Write a poem about peace without using the word.
A soft whisper breezes through
Calm and easy, nice and slow
It says something to me,
That I really needed to know
It says, “ No troubles, no worries,
be blissfully serene.”
And when I heard this lovely thought
A perspective arrived that I haven’t seen.
So I take in the advice
And let it all flow
Breathe in, breath out
And let it all go.

I loved your poem, and I composed my own to share with you.
Hiking up the Appalacian Trail
There’s a pond in a place I knew as a child.
We called it Sunfish Pond.
My dad would take us,
Kerchief on his head to prevent sunburn,
Packing peanut butter sandwiches,
An apple, a dark chocolate bar,
Water.
We each carried our own fishing pole.
And we would hike there early in the morning
Put out a blanket by the pond,
Find the best rock for sitting,
Putting wriggling worms on the hook.
Casting line and lure as far as we could.
Then waiting for the pull.
It was catch and release
And most of the day was spent
Sitting.
Waiting.
At some point we would take a break,
Chew on sandwiches,
Apple, chocolate,
Drink water,
Gaze out at the placid pond
Dragonfly wings would buzz
With a thousand vibrations
Rainbows on all parts of their bodies.
Water skeeters glided swiftly across the pond.
There was so much activity below and above
The surface of the water,
But the pond itself appeared still.
Sometimes we would skip flat rocks
To see who would win for the most
Skips that day.
We hiked back before dark.
If we were lucky, the car wouldn’t break down
On the way home,
And mostly we slept anyway.
I carry that memory when I’m casting about,
Looking for some quiet place in the turbulence.

“Morning”
A quiet morning is worth more than many know,
Weather it’s watching the sun rise or gazing at fresh snow.
A cup of coffee in the early hours of a day,
Whilst a small fire burns nearby.
A still morning can bring new life to one’s soul,
Listening to bird songs and critters rustling.
A warm seat with a view of the new chance,
To start again on a beautiful path forward.
A calm morning can cure a painful heart,
With a warm embrace of life and new eyes.
Hope rises with the dawn,
Life renews once more.
A free morning can break what blocks the mind,
A time of reflection and forgiveness.
A simple prayer or soft words to self,
can make this morning one for the ages.
That was a breath of fresh air—- love this thread

Something about feet in the sand and watching the waves and the sun do their thing, is very reassuring.
