the Sea of Space
Silence humms lowly and complete
Adrift and fleeting her tune is defeat
Darkened shadows fills all sight
Hands grasp far and wide with all might
"Stars above where are your now"
A voice breaks her deadly hum
A void, empty but me floating and fleeting
Great powers once let go leave nothing behind
My ground is gone, my water and air
It leaves me alone, cold, with despair
"Star above, you have my life where are you now"
A voice breaks the humming,
Again I wonder who's
For I'm all alone
Silence prevails, not even a hum
And now I realize my throat is sore
From all this humming to fill my void
I gave my all but nothing can fill the void
All that can happen is hitting earth
Or
Giving the void everything,
until only atoms my remain

Thanks for sharing 💕💜
It talks to me of the deafening silence we can feel, despite the loudness of the world and all that is going on around us.
We can still feel unseen.
Alone.
Voiceless.
Your writing has a way of cutting through 🥰

Thank you for replying, it is well appreciated!
Perhaps to be to not lose oneself, they need chains, anchors, bonds, something, or something to tie them down and keep them sane?
@7Bear7
Yes,
Everyone needs a foundational passion for which to get up for 🥰

Thank you for sharing this beautiful and deeply moving poem🥺❤️, bear. The way you've captured a state of absolute despair and loneliness is truly powerful. Your words paint a vivid picture of being adrift in a silent, empty void where everything familiar your ground, water, and air has vanished.
The most striking part of the poem is the sudden realization at the end that the humming was coming from within. It’s a profound moment that shifts the entire meaning, showing how we can exhaust ourselves trying to fill a void that only we have created. Your writing doesn't just describe despair; it explores the painful, intricate nature of it💕💕
@Tulipsmile
Thank you for you kind reply, it was very profound itself.
Despite never being quite that deep in despair, at least not without my last anchor to hold my sanity afloat, I have still see glimpses of it. From those glimpses I wrote realizing that my best andost beautiful poems have some meaning, feeling, thought, or desire that it is trying to picture through the medium of words.

You are welcome, omg even your comments is like poetry itself.... Let me say... Undoubtedly, pain provides a rich wellspring for writing, giving us the ability to express ourselves with greater depth and honesty. A true poet is one who can transform their deepest feelings and thoughts into captivating images, allowing their emotions to reach the reader without them even realizing how it happened. Poetry can be seen as a mirror reflecting our hidden thoughts and emotions, a vehicle for self discovery and expressing the profound aspects of ourselves.

Your poem is heavy with a sense of desperation that seems to drift towards resignation and a sense of inevitability. The repetition of the use of hum and humming is effective as audio imagery, giving the impression of a atonal note that is on the cusp of hearing. Aggravating and impersonal, much like tv static or the background buzz of electrical devices. It made me think of the constant droning sound of an old fluorescent tube light, the only sound in an empty night.
Also the repetition of the word void towards the end of the poem had somewhat of a mantra quality, evoking the inevitable dissolution. The bleak tone is very moving. Kudos.
