7 Cups 6th Birthday: What 7 Cups Means to You!

Happy Thursday! Hope you've been enjoying the festivities! Let's keep it going with a couple questions! Feel free to answer either or both!

I've been thinking a lot about what 7 Cups means to each person, as each person's journey is entirely unique. So, with that in mind:

🧁 If you could describe 7 Cups in one sentence (as if you're telling someone about it for the first time), what would you say?

🧁 How would you describe how 7 Cups makes YOU feel in one sentence?

(If you go over one sentence, that's okay, too :P).

7 Cups to me it's a place, a sanctuary where I can go to when I need someone to listen to what hurts. On 7 Cups there are many people that's going through what you're going through; they've been there and some are still there so they understand you and at your loneliest moment you don't feel so much alone... That's what 7 Cups means to me.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY 7 CUPS!

It's been a place for me to recover through service to others from a few ongoing struggles. It's also been a place that has challenged my patience and willingness to be resillient, which in the long run has been a good thing for me.

7 cups is a place for all people to be heard. It is the hope for those who feel hopeless, and sometimes it's the place where healing begins, and where wounds are no longer inflicted. It's a break from the hurt, and a place to tell your story, even when it feels like no one is listening.

I came here to find text therapy and I have had that for several months as an adjunct for real life therapy. I was having difficulty with the latter. It has been great, the therapist assigned to me, even though half a world away, has been more than adequate in keeping me upright to cope. In the end I had to leave that therapy and she has helped me to move on and currently I am trying another real life therapist. If that works out I will probably stop the texting herapy. This has made me realise that online work may be easier for me to cope with and I may try other versions of this in future in particular Skype therapy

I have also used the skill materials here and those have been very good and led me onto other materials. The quality of the materials I have tried has been excellent.

The path process hasnt been particularly useful. I have a sense of where I am going and how to get there. However I have recently put up a goal into that but havent yet sought help in achieving it. That is my next step.

I have made a few postings into threads and that has been helpful but I havent bothered to do it much because my problem is not connecting to people on-line, that is easy to do. Writing comes naturally to me. The real problem is connecting to real people, face to face. I want to put my energy there.

I have had interactions with a couple of Listeners and I think I am eligable to become one, but at the moment I am not treading that path, I need to relearn the skill of listening to other people in real life while still getting things for myself. In the past I have given too much. I can actually do this new (to me) kind of listening in writing, I have posted a lot on Quora and have rapidly made connections in writing. I have to allocate my time wisely (all part of mindfullness)
