How To Overcome Overthinking?
“Think about drinking a cup of coffee and then picture it flying. Add to that and consider letting it greet you if it speaks. No matter how ridiculous I was, I’m sure what I said came to life in your eyes. Because you have sufficient imagination and all the necessary information about the action. Nonetheless, 99% of thoughts are garbage. The question is how much of it we take into account.
1. Leave the past in the past
We can always take the time to consider our desires. Instead of becoming trapped in the past, try to concentrate on what you need to accomplish to reach where you wish to be. Since we replay the scenes for a long time, it might be hard to stop thinking about our faults. It becomes almost automatic. It’s like a prison, and we’re imprisoning ourselves there.
Recognize that your present needs to be your main priority to prevent regrets about it in the future, which will one day be your past.
2. You don’t have to be perfect
Sometimes the reason for overthinking comes from perfectionism. Allow your thoughts and ideas. Don’t try to suppress them. Think of the worst-case scenario. What could be the worst? Only don’t put them at the center of your life. Since when you do, they take control of your entire life.
3. Express your feelings
Do not hold back your emotions if you want to escape this circumstance. Even if the other person does not understand you, express your feelings. Sometimes we keep our mouths shut to avoid tension and stress.
4. Stop talking about the same things over and over
We might experience unlucky incidents. It’s perfectly acceptable to share with our loved ones what happened and how we feel. However, when we keep talking about it we turn our bad memories into trauma.
Whatever we talk about a lot, our mind is busy with it. Besides, its dosage starts to increase and what happens to us affects us more. Control where to stop.
5. Making a choice wrong is better than nothing at all
Set a time and select the one you are closest to at the moment. The time you will set will vary according to the importance of the decision you have to make. For example, it might take a day to decide to buy a shoe you like or a week to accept a job offer.”

✨Takeaway: Overthinking leads to depression. Additionally, almost all of the distress you experience as a result of overthinking is connected to your anxieties and feelings of inadequacy. Life is about the journey, not the destinations. Persevere in believing in yourself.

Any post about overthinking, and I click on it without thinking twice, the irony lollll!😛
Yes yes, big time overthinker here, I sometimes try to make myself feel better by replacing "over" with "deep", because hey being a deep Thinker actually is cool, like you're really putting thought and consideration into something.
I don't think it is something that can ever be overcomed completely, can definitely be managed well to reduce the negative impact, so I guess, I try to kinda just cope with it? XD affirmations are helpful sometimes, like okay brain you're allowed to think, but let's have a deal, please give me some breaks to breathe atleast, and then we can continue again. 🧐
Other times, journaling or distracting helps.
How about you, Joy?💛

Sun! Every time I see your name I instantly smile! I love love love how you rephrased "over" with "deep." I am writing that down! Your mind is amazing! Deep thinking is cool, indeed!
I agree with you! It's all about managing so that it's not impacting us negatively. Journaling is my #1 go to! can't say enough about how helpful journaling can be in many aspects of mental health and well-being overall!
Thanks for your lovely words Sun!!💛💫

I love this. I'm a huge overthinker myself, and I've just realised it's because I always strive for perfection and I can't accept failure. I'm currently working on self compassion and letting myself not to be ok and always on top :)
Practice meditation and mindfulness. When one is engaged in the present moment they give their thoughts less attention and that will allow the mind to calm.
@BodhisattvaKuato
I am a huge fan of mindfulness! I am trying to get into meditation, but can't sit still long enough. Something I need to work on! I am glad that it helps you to overcome overthinking though!! Appreciate you sharing :)💛💫
After a while, overthinking stops. Through meditation the awareness grows and the expansion of the awareness comes with cessation. There is the cessation of excessive thought, boredom, anger, hatred, anxiety and pain, among others. Overthinking only exists within a disorganized mind and through disciplinary practices like mindfulness and meditation thoughts themselves become organized.
Meditation is a preventative action and mindfulness is the immersive engagement in action.
