How to Get Into Your Natural Flow as an Introvert And Thrive
"3 examples of using the philosophy of wu-wei for introverts
Wu-wei — Getting into your natural flow
When people talk about going with the flow it actually comes from the Taoist philosophy of wu-wei. The key to this concept of wu wei is to take the path of least resistance. Surrender to it and allow the natural process to unfold.
1: Embrace your introvert qualities and be unapologetically true to your nature
The demands of modern society can often make you feel like you have to act like an extrovert in order to fit in and be successful.
Social media can also create the illusion that everyone is living a large life. But we don’t have to conform to these expectations and illusions as introverts.
Embracing your introvert qualities means not apologizing for being introspective and needing more solitude than others.
It doesn’t mean not working on yourself but it does mean not fighting yourself. Don’t resist your true nature and certainly never apologize for it.
Embrace your introvert qualities and go with the flow of them.
Being true to your nature as an introvert can also help you be more authentic in your relationships and interactions with others.
2: Trust your own pace and don’t feel the need to rush or hurry
Did you know introverts tend to approach tasks slower than extroverts?
They prefer to think before they speak and act. It’s actually a great quality as it allows you to consider your options carefully and make more thoughtful decisions
In many situations, it’s not necessary to jump in and make knee-jerk decisions or take immediate action. This type of behavior can often lead to more problems later down the road.
By allowing yourself the time to reach decisions and take action at your own pace, you can operate more effectively in your own flow.
I know in the workplace it can be difficult with deadlines and expectations to meet.
But it’s important to trust in yourself and your abilities. Don’t feel pressure to conform to someone else’s timeline or expectations unless absolutely necessary.
Instead, take the time you need to make the best decisions. You will find your best work happens when you work according to your own nature.
3: Set your boundaries and say no to social invitations when you need to
As an introvert, it can be tempting to turn down every invitation and only venture out once a year. But it’s important to find a balance and not become a recluse like Howard Hughes and completely isolate yourself.
This can be especially challenging if you are in a relationship with an extrovert.
It’s also okay to say no and prioritize your own well-being and need for solitude. If you have been out a lot recently, whether for social or work-related reasons, it’s important to give yourself the downtime you need.
You will be a much better partner, friend, and overall person when you have had enough time to rest and recharge.
Find ways to manage this balance in your life and don’t be afraid to say no and disappoint people when you need to."

For the sake of answering, I feel I'm an ambivert, more inclined towards the introverted side. So I got the best (and maybe worst) of both worlds lol!
Honestly though, I don't pay attention to the 'labels' too much, they sure help us to feel connected and like we belong to something/ some others like us etc, something to define/describe us, "explain" us and what not, but are human beings simple enough to be confined within certain words that are rather limiting, I don't think so, not always for sure!
We are always more than just an "introvert" or an "extrovert". 🥰

That's actually a really great food for thought.
Just as you said, they do help us find other like-minded people and our communities. But, at the same time, they can confine us. They can suggest only one way of being. When really life is not that rigid and everyone is multifaceted. So, very true. Great point as always Sun!💜

I'd say I'm an introvert BUT I really like going out and doing things with someone and being in my own world doing my own thing. I think people give me grief about being a quiet person but I realize that those that have issues with quiet people just don't know how to try to get to know someone who is quiet so they cover it up with asking lame questions like why don't you talk? when in your mind you're thinking well if you tried actually talking to me maybe I wouldn't be so quiet. not sure if this even answered the question it's just fun to answer questions lol

I am a proud introvert! Once in a while, I'll appreciate being in a large group of people, but for the most part I find it draining, especially if I don't know others and there is a lot of activity going on (loud noises, movement, etc.). I have gotten the message that being introverted is a negative, especially at work from more extroverted and overbearing individuals 😥
It's okay, I am learning to be in touch with myself and going with the flow. I love Taoism and the concept of wu-wei 🌊
@innateJoy9602 thank you for this post! I think that being an introvert in an extroverted world has contributed my feeling out of place and thus getting down
@JLarissaNowhere256
Awh I’m sorry about that. Give that I’ve met many introverts on here, I hope you can feel at place here with us💜
@innateJoy9602 thank you! I will continue to seek connection and need to recall even the seemingly extroverted people may be masking pain or being performative to satisfy perceived social game of life
