Merry Hygge Season!

“The word ‘hygge’ means ‘to comfort’. To be cozy, to feel safe and unburdened. It conjures up images of a crackling fire, blankets on every surface and a smile on every face. Gathering around the window to watch the magic of the first snowfall.

You know the feeling all too well. Coming in from outside, your breath fading into steam in the moment before you close the door behind you.

It’s the sleepy time of year, where your home should feel like a comfortable den. Somewhere to retreat to, where you can feel safe and enshrouded and private. The place you can relax after a long day of struggling through waist deep snow.

Thick wooden socks, the kind that bunch up at the top of your rubber boots to keep the snow from getting in. Do you prefer mittens or gloves?

It’s easier to warm up in the cold than it is to cool down in the heat. A soft fluffy blanket or a shawl, layers on layers as you find a place to sit. The softest couch or an armchair, something snug that cradles you like an embrace.

Hot stews and pot roasts, your favorite drinks. Mulled wine and cider. A favorite book and a cushion for your feet. That’s hygge. That’s the spirit of the season.”

@innateJoy9602 Aw this entire read was so comforting. Thanks for sharing, Joy, and I got a new word in my dictionary yay!💜

Cozy instantly makes me think of being wrapped in blankets during a cold night hehe, and sipping on some hot chocolate, near a fireplace or a bonfire. 🥰

When I have a loving, frank conversation with one of my god-squad members I find it so comforting and heart warming.
