Your Happy Place
"People feel connected to their favorite places. In environmental psychology, place attachment refers to the cognitive-emotional bond that forms between an individual and a physical setting.
What Is Your “Happy Place”?
Identify your favorite physical place and spend a few minutes thinking about why you love it.
What Makes a Place Our Favorite Space?
Use Your Happy Place for Stress Reduction
Did thinking about your favorite place make you feel good? You can harness your “happy place” to reduce stress-related thoughts and feelings when you use it as part of a meditative technique called guided imagery. Close your eyes and breathe slowly in and out while imagining your happy place. How did you feel there? What did you do there? How did the physical space smell, look, sound, and feel? Mentally walk through and enjoy the remembered experience.
The “Shadow Side” of Place Attachment
Place attachment can be beautiful, but it has a “shadow side.” Person-place bonds are sometimes fragile. People can grieve the loss of a special place, especially if it's one to which return is impossible, for example, due to the passage of time. We should have empathy for those that lose their homes and homelands. They mourn their loss of place while trying to find and adapt to a new one."

A library especially if it has comfortable seating and cozy decor. Books give me relief. They are your friends whose talk you can process at your pace.

Where is YOUR happy place?
My happy place is a local restaurant that has an atrium in a side room to the main restaurant. It contains trees, bushes, flowers, fruits, vegetables, herbs, nuts, and grasses all year 'round. There are dining booths with spider plants hanging from the lighting fixtures. There are plants growing out of the walls. You can pick your own fresh herbs for your meal.
How does it make you feel?
It makes me feel serene, calm, and peaceful. A place where I can close my eyes and breathe in the smell of the earth even if it's in the dead of winter. A place of happiness, positivity, and lightness. I feel like I'm being bathed in the glow of wondrous quiet allowing my body and soul to regenerate to a level where I can face the complexities of my day.
