Interviewing Cancun

Today we have another wonderful interview!

Sally (about Cancun): She is a great person; I like when she is in the sharing circle.

Cancun: Thank you sally. I love the share circle. I truly care for everyone who comes in. I feel like a better person when I can help someone. Listening, relating and having compassion for another person just because they need it helps me to feel like I have a purpose again. Something that has seriously been lacking since I became disabled.

Sally: How do you deal with rejection in regards to Job interviews or friendships ending?

Cancun: I honestly feel for both of those if it doesn't work out it wasn't meant to be. It wasn't for my greater good. The group of friends I have now are my family. We would do anything for each other. The friends I don't have anymore were toxic for me.

Sally: How do you deal with Stress when things go bad?

Cancun: I deal with mild stress by eating chocolate, swimming, music and reaching out to people. If I don't my IBS flares up. Medium stress I deal with the same way. If I don't I get a cold sore on my nose always in the same spot.

Sally: What do you do when you're anxious?

Cancun :I swim, meditate, mindful breathing and get fresh air and sunshine. I take my scooter out and ride at full speed. I make my mind switch thinking when it wants to dwell on a situation. I look at funny things on Amazon. That makes me laugh.

Sally: Do you have any particular hobbies you enjoy when you have the time for it?

Cancun: I make seashell art, make crystal bracelets, I make balloon animals, I collect crystals, I bake and I shoot competitively.

Sally: What is your take on thearpy and have you ever done it in the past or current times?

Cancun: I'm currently in therapy. I've had it in the past. If you find the right therapist they can do wonders for you. It's nice to have someone who you can talk to that can give you new tools to work with. It's nice to talk to someone who wants to help you and has the tools to know how to do it.

Sally: Do you like 7 cups; what has been your experience so far?

Cancun: I absolutely love 7 Cups. The share circle has saved my life on a few occasions. Just having people listen to you and care about you means the world to me. What's so special about us is that no matter what your going through you can always find people here who understand. If they don't they sure try to.

Sally: Do you enjoy listening to any particular types of music?

Cancun: I listen to anything from metalica to enya. I think music is a huge part of therapy. I feel better after I've sung some songs. Something about music really touches my soul. It makes me feel alive. I may not be able to dance anymore with my legs but, I'm a great chair dancer.
