What's difference between supportive chatter and cliques chatter?

February 24th, 2023

Cliques chatter is when certain members of a group talk among themselves and exclude others.

Sad, is it not?!

Let's consider an offline situation. You were a group of friends sitting and chattering. Then, a new friend came and said 'may I join you all' and you welcome them with kindheartedness, and not only that, help them break ice with you and make them feel comfortable in the group!

Now, that, is supportive chatter. The chatter which is welcoming and inclusive of those wanting to join in!

Dear Community, let's today discuss more thoughts about this important topic: about the problem of cliques in the community and on overcoming it!

Please share your thoughts below.

Let's together form an inclusive globe!

@Fristo Cliques are harmful to individuals because they exclude and/or make individuals feel like they do not belong, broadly speaking.

Community discussions are much more productive, as generally individuals are with at least a good handful of other like-minded individuals who can provide good peer support. Generally, community discussions are held in very supportive spaces, and everyone feels supported.
