Honoring those that are supportive to others on Empathy Monday
Hi there everyone
Something that I see oh so often in the Support Forums are members supporting member through the tough times. I look at 7Cups as being a community and one of the great aspects of this community is that there is often someone here that has been through something similar to what you have.
So for Empathy Monday, I thought it would be a great idea for people to give a shout-out for members that have been really supportive in the forums. It may be something that you've experienced yourself from another member or something that you've seen a member do. Either way is all good :)
I would love to hear some love for our supportive members of the member community! :)
There's a thread called can't deal with that from which I want to honor two members right now.
The first is @compassionateShip6063 who was the first to reply to the initial post. What I like about their post is that they shared a little bit of their own background to relate to the initial poster. Sharing someone's feelings is what empathy is all about so I want to thank you for that.
The second is for @LemonTime20 who shared some magical pieces of advice from their own experience. Shared experience is everything in empathy and as the OP said so succinctly, you made them feel better. Great job :)
So has anyone else seen any great support in the forums that they would like to share?
Thank you so much for the shoutout! What a great thing to wake up to :)
I'd like to honour three amazing members for sustained commitment in the support forums

Not only do you always laugh at my terrible jokes and make me smile all the damn time, you are also incredibly empathetic and supportive in the forums, and I love to see you bringing your insight and compassion to those in need.
❈ @LazyKatz ❈
You are seriously my icebreaker inpsiration, no matter the thread, you can always bring such a sense of grace and love, and I honestly respect that so much. You pretty much own the Free Hugs threads, and it makes me really happy to see your name on the dashboard. Keep on being you, you are so loved ❤

I see you so often in the forums, and your responses are just so insightful, so supportive, and it really comes through to me just how much love you have for those around you, it's an absolute privilege to read your amazing responses, and I'd be lying if I said that I didn't use you as a role model for my work in the support forums. We are so lucky to have you here.
Thank you, @Lyra, that has made my holiday Monday. Special Hugs to you. x
I am quite humbled, and undeserving. I do the absolute least that I can do. I graciously accept & thank you for this honor in hopes that acts of kindness will continue.
I am not a regular visitor to the forums, but I see this opportunity to acknowledge members who are supportive of others and I would like to thank a member who has been amazing support for so many people (listeners, members and guests) in the chatrooms. @Lulu2015, you are more than awesome, you are simply amazing. I am so proud of you Lulu for being so kind and helpful to everyone, and for making the Community Rooms more welcoming for people. Stay lovely, and I wish you lots of happiness.
I'd love to share a non-specific shoutout to ALL members who have dedicated their own time and energy to supporting others. It goes to show that you do not need to be a Listener in order to make a difference in the lives of others. Each and everyone can make a difference, not just here on 7COT but also in the real world. By doing one small thing for someone else you can start a chain reaction thus slowly we can make this world a better place, together. You are all amazing and thank you for being YOU!

I'm pretty new in our community, but I quickly learned that there are many amazing souls around here. I'd like to use the Empathy Monday to make a praise for two of such precious characters.
I want to thank to @Lyra . I often stumble upon you in a variety of support forums. I love this little moments, because they gave me an opportunity to read your messages, full of compassion and without a trace of pity. Your shout-outs are always lovely, focused on the best qualities of a chosen human being. You never judge, and somehow you can see light even in the darkest corners of the mind. You make me smile, and it's a rare thing, so I collect such memories, like gems. Your kindness almost intimidates me, but I never felt unwelcome, and that's thanks to your gentleness. For us, members, you are the ocean after weeks spent on a desert. Every day I learn how to be kinder towards myself, and you are definitely the source of my inspiration. Thank you for the calming sound of waves - I feel more at peace now.
I want to thank you @QuickJazz . It won't be a surprise to anyone, because everyone recognizes your invaluable contributions to this community. You simply never rest. You always choose to go the extra mile, to reach the horizon, because you know there's something wonderful in there, and you just want to share it with us. You make everything looks so easy and effortless, but we know it's not true. You put some much of your time to support our community, creating endless number of projects, and at the same time supporting everyone who feels a bit uneasy. You always make sure no one is left out in a discussion forum. Your comments are never fillers - they always bring new perspective or forgotten truth to the discussion. You are magnificent. Thank you for showing me the horizon - you were absolutely right, it's a beautiful view from here.
Thank you both from the bottom of my heart.
*hugs*
@Celaeno - This is honestly the most beautiful shout out I have ever received. I aspire so much to be all of things that you described, and I am so so honoured that you think I'm there. Thank you, thank you from the very bottom of my heart.
And if you're struggling to smile at the moment, this is for you
(Thank you also for reposting that thread of mine the other day, I got the tag but couldn't see the post because of the adult/ teen divide, so had to get a friend to screenshot it for me, but I'm so so glad you found it helpful)
@Lyra, this is the cutest gift I've seen today, and indeed it made me smile ^^ Thank you!
*hugs*
I just forget about this divide, sorry for troubles ^^; But I'm glad you have such great friends to help you in times of need.
There may be too many people to name!!!! Every person here is a valuable part of our 7cups family!!! You all know who you are...keep up the excellent work!!! :)
This is so difficult because there are so many of you that I want to personally thank for all the good you do and for being so kind, uplifting, and empathetic. You are noticed and very much appreciated! You all are. But for right now, I would like to just say that every one of you is a blessing to me and the 7 Cups family. Its an honor being here.
@Kristen1993 – You were my first listener and I am so happy that I connected with you. You are empathetic, helpful, kind, insightful and just an overall beautiful soul. I could tell how much you wanted to help me feel better (and you did!) and how much you truly cared about me. I am so appreciative that I have someone on my side who is so supportive. Thank you for listening and being there to talk. You are amazing!
@Cadence – There are not enough good adjectives in the English language to describe how incredible of a person you are! I am so happy and feel beyond blessed that we had the opportunity to connect. You are one of the kindest people I think I have ever talked to and you're also really funny. You made me feel comfortable and safe, and I can't thank you enough for everything you did for me that night and for all the things you do for the 7 Cups community! You are a blessing to me (and all of us!)
@Annie – I see your presence often on the original poetry forum and it makes me smile when I see your responses. I was very hesitant to post one of my poems, but I did and you commented. It made me feel cared about, welcomed, and appreciated. I appreciate you! All your responses are so eloquent and insightful. Thank you for letting me know my voice was heard.
@Celaeno – You are a ray of light that helps so many of us see and tunnel our way through the dark. You are an extremely active member and everyone values your presence greatly, including me! I look up to you as a role model, I really do. And I am very, very thankful that you are here. I hope that one day, I will make half as much of a positive difference as you have made on our 7 Cups community.
@ LeahMck89 – Youre just a lovely, inspiring person! That thread you created about changing negative self-talk into saying good, positive things about yourself has really helped me! I bookmarked it and I come back to it daily. Thank you for creating something that has made an impact on my life, and Im sure many others, as well. Youre a survivor and an inspiration and Im happy youre here to spread positive messages.
@ValentineLove – I wanted to take this time to give you a shout out and say thank you for having such an inspiring, thought provoking feed! I really love coming on 7 Cups and going through the feed and seeing things you post. It means a great deal to me to see the wonderful things you put on there!
More to come soon!
Sending hugs to everyone!

@unsinkablespirit312, you're so kind! Thank you so much, I really do appreciate it.
I feel honored to be an inspiration for you, and I really hope I won't disappoint you, darling. Just remember that you're as much capable of compassion as every one in this community. You're a wonder, lovely.
Thank you so much Unsinkable! I know I haven't been able to be on as often as I would like, but I'm glad to hear you're doing better. This is a truly touching message and I really appreciate it. Sending hugs and good vibes your way!
We've never talked before @Calaeno, but I see you all around the forums, being extremely kind and empathetic to everyone. I really love all your responses and upvote them every chance I get. Stay awesome :)
@Anushka1, only know I've noticed that you post a wonderful message to me (there was a little typo in my username, so I didn't receive a notification).
I think it is never late to show appreciation for the acts of kindness, so I want to thank you for being caring, supportive person.
I hope New Year is awesome for you ^^ Take the best care of yourself!
