November 16 to November 22: Forgiveness Week! #IForgiveYou Campaign
This week, the theme is #forgiveness!
Forgiveness can be a challenging concept, but it is an important one. This week, we'd like to encourage you to discuss what forgiveness means to you.
Lead a pop-up discussion or a planned discussion, write about your experiences or questions with forgiveness in the forums, discuss the concept with your members and find ways to better understand how forgiveness can be a regular part of your life. If you are a support room leader, you focus on forgiveness in your support sessions.
There are 2 types of forgiveness we can focus on:
1) Forgiveness we give to others
2) Forgiveness we give to ourselves (I made a short video on self-forgiveness a while back, take a look here).
Challenge: We challenge you to forgive someone this week. Whether it be yourself for a past action, or another person, this is the week to let it go & get past it. Our community is here to support you in this challenging endeavor.
#forgivenesschallenge
I forgive my parents for not being there when I needed them and for not understanding me. I forgive them because I know they had a rocky journey with me struggling with my mental illness.
I forgive all those people who bullied me. I know you never knew what was on my mind and I forgive you because you may be just like me and just like you never know my struggle I didn't know your ether.
And lastly I forgive myself. I forgive me for hurting me. It's not my fault I am the way I am. I forgive myself since I never had strength to fight my demos away. I forgive myself since I am just lost and scared. I forgive you and i will let go.
@ItIsANewDay Wonderfully put. Good luck!
@SethK thank you :)
