Social Soldiers Refresh - September 2016

Hey, Socal Soldiers Team!

Over the past month, the Social Soldiers has been starting to undergo a refresh! A number of changes and updates have been going on, so heres a rundown of whats new! Also stay tuned until the end of the post for some reminders on old team rules. Anyways, here is all of the exciting new information on our relaunch!

Leadership Changes!
Im very excited to announce that @ArwaS and I are now in charge of this team! @Dillion and @Amelia will still be supporting the team as ambassador and community manager, respectively, but Arwa and I will be the people to go to if you ever have any questions or concerns. We are also looking to add some Project Agents to our team in the future, so keep your eyes open for that!

② New Links!
Weve made a new member dashboard (which will be sent in PMs to team members), signup form, and new forms to record messages (Twitter, Tumblr, & Reddit) so please bookmark those! The old dashboard was deleted just before the leadership changes, which means that any messages recorded with the old forms cannot be tracked - Arwa and I dont receive those form responses! Unfortunately, this was done at the end of July, which means we dont have anyones stats for August! If you sent any messages in August, please use the forms linked above to let us know - and in the place for comments, please state that it is your August tally. Thanks so much for your cooperation and understanding over this! ♥

③ Updating the Team Members!
The Social Soldiers has been around for a while, and as such, many people have come and go. We are working really hard to update it and figure out who is active! Weve sent people activity warnings in July, so if we dont hear from anyone receiving one of those PMs, they will be removed from the team list (they can reapply for the team if they are ready to be active). We will also be checking to ensure that all 7 Cups Social Soldier accounts are being used appropriately. The accounts should not be used for personal purposes, and your social media handle should include your 7 Cups username and 7 Cups in it (example: @/Rebecca-7Cups, @/Rebecca_7Cups, etc.). If we see any personal accounts or inappropriate content, depending on the severity, the member might be subject to removal from the team.

④ New Badge Process!
As of right now, the team badges are going to be removed from everyone, so well start off with a clean slate. Once this is done (and well give you a more precise timeline once we have one) we can start giving badges to active team members. To get your team badge, you can apply for them on the My Impact page, its on the left-hand side of the screen. For the Twitter team, you would apply for the Chirp badge, the Tumblr Lover badge for the Tumblr Team, and for the Reddit team, the Reddit badge. Stay tuned for more information on when you can start applying for your badges!

⑤ New Feedback and Reporting Forms!
Arwa and I did some talking and figured it would be important to have a new feedback form, especially since we are undergoing quite a few changes on the site. Dont hesitate to leave feedback on anything that you think could improve on the project! While leaving a username is optional, please be aware that it is helpful to leave one so Arwa and I can get clarification if needed. You can find the form here.
We also thought it would be useful to have a reporting form, so that if anyone encounters any inappropriate Social Soldier accounts, they can be reported easily. You can find this here. Please only report issues related to the Social Soldier project through this link.

⑥ New Monthly Goals!
Like a few other projects on the site, we are going to have monthly goals! This will help the team stay motivated, and Im excited to see how much we can accomplish! My hopes for September are that we will reach 500 messages altogether!

This is all so exciting, and Arwa and I really hope these changes help bring more success to the team. We know its a lot happening all at once, so if you have any questions, Arwa and I are both open to answering them either in the forums or in PMs!

To finish off, I just want to remind the team of a few old rules that are super important to remember!

✸ Please record your messages at least once a month! This is the only way for us to track your activity, and if you are inactive for a long period of time, you will be at risk of being removed from the team. Within that month, you can fill out the form as often as you like - some people like to fill it right after sending messages, while others like to send just one monthly tally.
✸ Please try to let Arwa or I know if you need to take a break from the team, so we know beforehand that you will be inactive - this is important, so people arent removed from the team while they are on breaks!
✸ Remember that our goal is for each team member to send 40 compassionate messages a month! This could be done all in one day or broken up throughout the month, but please try your best to achieve this. If anything is stopping you from doing this, please let Arwa and I know!

Thats all for our update! Once again, this might be a lot to get used to, but if there are any issues, Arwa and I are just a PM away! We are so appreciative of everyone on the Social Soldiers team, and cant wait to see where the team can go in the future.
