Fair warning it is brutal in some details as it is a biography of a U.S. Marine fighting in the Pacific Theater during WW 2. But I hope you enjoy it though it's considered one of the best books about the war experience of one person.

I read this book years ago, I really liked it! Not sure if I ever finished it though, it was just one of the books on the shelf in my English class that I picked up to read sometimes when there wasn't anything better to do. This inspires me to read it again.
