Now we can let the group give us AMAZING book recommendations!

There are so many ways of doing this… Tell us things like:

The genre you’re looking for (YA, dystopian, historical)

The title or plot of a book you like, so we can give you similar book recs (The Book Thief, Little Lord Fauntleroy, Chasing Vermeer)

The time period you like to read about (The Gold Rush, Medieval Europe, ancient Egypt, the Civil Rights Movement)

Give us a mood or atmosphere you’re looking for (cozy and autumncore, mysterious, encouraging, gentle)

Ask for a specific character (strong female lead, talking animals, a child with autism, a girl who loves to read)

An author you like (Francine Rivers, Charles Dickens, Anne Frank, Malcolm Gladwell)

A specific book length (can be read in one day, might take a week, SUPER thick)

A setting (farm, city, fantasy world)

Narrative style (books written in the form of letters, poems, first or third person, multiple POVs)

A book that matches your own life experience (growing up on a Native American reservation, being a child with several siblings, singing in the choir at church, being in the military)

A book that combines specific interests (art and mystery, plants and friendships, woodworking and fantasy)

Rhythm and flow (fast-paced, relaxing, written in staccato sentences)

Book format (graphic novel, large print, audiobook, book of short stories)

A book that reminds the other person of their childhood (Blueberries for Sal, Caps for Sale, Dr. Suess’ ABCs, Corduroy)
