Whispers of The Forgotten☁️
Hey everyone! I thought I’d share a poem I wrote a while back for a university competition with the prompt “Whispers of the Forgotten.” I didn’t win anything, I suppose it was too non-academic so Ill share it here! If anyone likes feel free to comment what you think its about 🌲🍄🌸
A small little poem by me <3:
The moon guides me, a hushed light.
A forsaken route, a home to none.
A familiar solitude, a familiar darkness.
But I bathe in the icy warmth of the moon.
I am not alone.
The atmosphere constricts, the walls breathe desperation.
She looks at me, I look back.
Her skin is untouched by the moon’s warmth, the wind hums her words.
I flinch, her thorns pricking my skin.
And I let go.
The moon guides me, a hushed light.
A lone light.
The walls contort, her siren calls persist.
She cries out, her grasp tightens.
My name echoes in her heart, throughout the hall.
Yet the void remains hushed.
The moon guides me, a hushed light.
Her cries are no more.
Or are they merely a whisper in a void of indifference?
The tunnel ends, the moon fulfills its duty.
A familiar darkness, a welcoming light.
The sun rises.
Bathing in its warmth, I take her place.
