Are we broken up or on a break?!

Hey y’all, any advice or opinions on this would be great!

i dated my partner for 3+ years until January when they broke up with me because they wanted to out themselves first mentally and didn’t want to be in a relationship anymore. We shared an apartment and dogs. We had lived together for longer than a year before our split. We’re both 21 y/o and still say “love you” and give compliments to eachother. I relied on them to help pay bills and I dont have a car yet so drive theirs. They used to stay with their mom early in the breakup and see me a lot throughout the week now basically they basically moved back in and live woth me now and sleep in the same bed. We are affectionate but like before. Our lease together ends in a couple months then we will be staying with their parents to save before moving further away together but in separate apartments. They said they will always take care of me but i’m confused because I want to know if I should wait for them like my gut tells me to. Help!
