Been thinking about leaving my spouse
I have been unhappy for a small amount of time. Me and my spouse hardly spend alone time together. And when I mention this to him their is always an excuse as to why we can't spend time together. I'm a very affectionate person but he can't seem to ever want to give any affection. I only give him affection. I feel so alone sometimes. But the idea of leaving scares me. We have been together for a long time. I'm scared that I won't be happy either way.

Sorry to hear you're struggling with affection in your relationship. In long term relationships, partners can grow apart and distant if they do not nurture the emotional bond between them. It sounds like your partner is perfectly happy to continue as it is. Do you think they might agree to structured couple time? Where you plan something maybe once weekly and just spend time together reconnecting as a couple? With time and responsibilities, it can get extremely busy and difficult to spare time all of a sudden but planned dates might be doable if both parties want to.
Much love to you!

I am sorry to hear you are feeling this way and struggling with affection in your relationship. I was afraid to leave my ex-husband. He ended up having an affair and later divorced me. At first, it was hard to cope. Now I struggle with being a-okay to date again. I am happier on my own though. If you want to consider divorce or even separation, I suggest taking DivorceCare. It helped me process and heal all the emotional, mental, and some physical unboxing. Divorce isn't for everyone, nor is staying in a loveless marriage. I wish you the best and hope it helps to know you aren't alone.
@amiableCake6197 It's sad when you have to threaten to leave for someone to finally notice and acknowledge you and your feelings and want to try and change things but that might need to happen. Maybe couple's counselling?
@amiableCake6197- Also agree about couples counseling. Recently learned about the "Five love languages" - it helped me understand that each of us has ways we express committment and love to each other. Physical affection is one of the love languages. At least you say that you have only been unhappy for a short time. Relationships have cycles, and it is normal to feel disatisfied within relationships at times. Best of luck to the two of you.
