Break-Up Depression.

My boyfriend of over 5 years broke up with me in the beginning of August. I believe, he was the absolute love of my life. And a lot of his reasonings were hints I realize now I could have changed. Things I would change. I want him back. Badly. We talked about things about a week after the break-up and he said he needed to think about things-concerning getting back together. He had a lot of resentment towards me over certain things. And I told him he was absolutely right for having those feelings. And that I apologized for it, but I couldn't change the past, much as I might love to. And that I can only prove to him in the future that things would be different. He still hasn't gotten back to me on it.mand we've spoken since. Even spent a bunch of time together. At one point, I thought things were going so well that we'd be back together in no time. He told me that I kept readin into things. That, to him, we were just friends, having a fun time. But, he still said that those fun days had, had an affect on him. And he just seems like he isn't sad about it at all. He isn't bothered. He doesn't miss me. He's just going through life, without me. Totally fine. Meanwhile, I'm struggling just to get out of bed in the morning. To eat, bathe, clean, work, etc. I have 100 suicidal thoughts a day. I miss him-almost unbearably. I love him. Unconditionally. I did so much for him and he said he felt like I hadn't loved him in a while. But I did. I still do. I feel like a failure. 😔

I am not sure if you can change how he feels towards you because we cannot control others. One thing you could consider doing, is really make up for what you did, but you have to do it without seeming desperate or clingy. It seems he feels you are not fully listening to what he is telling you because he thinks you are reading too much into things. I suspect you might be doing that because you are not 100% sure of how he truly feels about you. If he has any feelings left or he has 100% moved on and just wants to be friends. It might be a good thing to figure that out so that you can decide what is the best thing to do following that. If you feel it is worth it, you might like to figure out what makes him feel unloved, like what were the things that led him to feel that way (if you do not already know what those are) and work on it.

Sometimes some people like saying that we don't love them because they feel neglected, but down deep they know we do. They just need to be reaffirmed but at the same time just saying it might not work, you need to figure out what means love to him. One interesting read to have concerning that is the - 5 Love Languages (I am not saying that there are only 5, but this is a good article to see how people might feel loved in a different way).
