Broke up with boyfriend - Trouble dealing with his uncertainty
I have a troubled background with men cheating on me and it gave me the feeling that I am not good enough. But recently, I had been a wonderful man for a year and a half. Around a year, he started hinting of a proposal and suggested ring shopping. However, we never ended up going the day he suggested (he said he forgot but I still think he blew it off) and it hurt me deeply because after we talked, he wasn't sure I was the one and after asking, he shared all his doubts about me. I took them really hard and they made me feel terrible about myself and after about six months of no progress and fighting and feeling bad about myself, I broke up with him.
However, I miss him a lot and am afraid I let my insecurities get in the way. I want to be with someone who is sure they see their future with me, but he has all the qualities I am looking for in a husband. He's kind, will be a good father, and overall I just want to be with him.
I am torn because I don't know if I am being unreasonable or it was the right decision to move on. Is it my fault for being impetuous and needing the validation or were the red flags clear that he doubts he'll ever want to marry me. I know he loves me but I don't know what to do...
Im the same. I have the worst past with boys and its really hard to trust again etc. Its not your fault you two didnt work. You made the right choice to leave him trust me. If he cant see how great you are then he dosnt deserve you. You will find someone. Something i have learnt through experiance is dont look for love you will never find it, let love look for you :)
