Can't get over a breakup

Like 4 months ago I had a really hard for me breakup. It was a 3 years relationship and I was really into it. She decided to break up with me using the excuse she wanted to be alone for some time, but immediately she started a new relationship with another guy, and later on I discovered she had been cheating on me with that guy for like over a year before. I thought I could get over that by time, but honestly this is getting so hard for me, I stay depressed all the time and can't enjoy the things I used to like. I know it may sound stupid, but this is really taking me down as I've never felt before, I'm not getting better, I'm getting worse day by day, I'm feeling so lost and isolated, I don't have many friends either. Being honest, everything else in my life is falling apart too, having problems about focusing in my studies, having family issues at home and lack of motivation in my job, honestly I'm even having suicidal thoughts nearly everyday. I decided to give a try to this app, I hope I can find some help and thanks for taking your time listening to me.

I am so sorry to hear this. Surely you have been through a lot and its definitely not "STUPID" feeling the emotions you are feeling. When someone close to us hurt us like that we are bound to feel hopeless and demotivated. Nothing else in life makes sense. But trust me, you can heal. Give a little time to yourself, be understanding with yourself. A lot has happened. You feel low now, but one day, you will get tired of being sad and will definitely find peace and happiness. If you are having suicidal thoughts, do not take it lightly and consult professional help. There are still people who care about you. We all care about you.

I’m so incredibly sorry that you’re going through this. I myself am going through something similar, in that my ex who cheated on me also moved on with the person he cheated with. My life also felt like it was falling apart as I was desperately trying to keep it afloat. But what usually helped me was focusing on the now and the future (and removing every picture and object that would remind me of the relationship). I wrote a list of things I hope for in the future and broke them down into smaller and smaller steps. It could be as small as taking a shower today. Small steps, when done consistently, lead to bigger changes. Every action creates a ripple effect. I know it’s hard. You want to erase the pain and humiliation, but the hard truth is that you can’t. You’ll have to live with it, as everyone has and will too. You’re not alone. Our capacity to experience these emotions are what bring us together as humans. Experiences like these mark battle scars in your soul, and like every soldier, it makes you a survivor. The pain will always be there, but it will be more like a splash of paint in a canvas. It becomes a part of your story, but it’s not your whole story. There are still so many things that you will see and so people you will meet that you never knew you could love so much. This is YOUR life, therefore only you have the power to act in it. Will you allow this pain to infest your character, body and decisions? It’s unfair, I know. And sometimes karma doesn’t work. But we can make our own karma by deciding to be happy in spite of it all. Life is shit? So what. Let them hate. Let them laugh. Let them cheat and be disgusting. You can only do so much. At the end, people will continue to be unpredictable and self seeking, because we all know deep inside that we only get one chance in life, and some people think that being reckless is a way of making the most out of it. There is more to life than a selfish ex, and the world holds more beauty than the pain it entails. You don’t have to turn your life upside down or change yourself to see it. Once you can find happiness in a blue sky, in the sound of raindrops or the smell of coffee in the morning, then you have already won at life, and your ex will only be a distant memory—a dot in your canvas.

Hey🤗, so I know it can get hard but what I also know is that it’s gonna get easier and better. There are days where you’ll feel like you’re okay and other days she might even appear in your dream and you crumble again but please be patient with yourself. Be patient with your heart and take one day at a time. Easier said than done I know but you can also try journaling. It really helps and soon everything will be okay. Just focus on one thing at a time and everyday, write down one good thing that happened or set one goal and try achieve it this way it will help you push forward. I hope this helps
