Cheated and terribly regret it, what should I do

I have never cheated before and have never wanted to be branded a cheater before because I've been cheated on and know how it feels. But here I am, I've been with my girl for about 2 years and love her deeply (can I even say that now) . But Friday night I had drunk sexual encounter with a Co worker and now I'm consumed with regret and guilt. Its eating me up inside I can't sleep and have to hold back tears at work. What do I do? I know I want to be with her and I know if I tell her it will destroy everything we've built.

My recommendation would be to be honest with her and tell her what happened, though I must warn you that if she does decide to stay with you, your relationship will forever be changed as she won't be able to trust you. :|

Allow her to make the decision of whether to stay or not, rather than leaving her in the dark. It will make you feel better too because you would've been honest. Losing her would be a nasty consquence to what you have done but all of our actions have consequences. Do the right thing, for her.

@SilentSerenityy thank you for your response I was thinking that and it might make me feel better and potentially grow as a person but would completely destroy her as she loves me deeply as well and has some self conscious issues already. which is kind of unfair. And like you said if she stays the relationship will be completely changed. I'm thinking of just trying to bear my burden and never let it happen it again. If I keep it in I feel like shit for awhile. But if it tell it changes things for the both of us :( bahh

Don't you think she has the right to know? Wouldn't you want to know if you'd been cheated on?

@SilentSerenityy she does and I probably would. I just don't know if I can work the courage up to tell her. I have crazy anxiety and I just keep running the possible consequences and scenerios in my head and it scares me

It is very hard to admit you were wrong and appreciate how hard it will be but I think it's the least she deserves from you after what's happened.
