Hi!

How are you? How are quarantine things doing? I hope okay.

I was wondering if there is anyone with similiar experience to mine, that would be willing to talk to me, about it. I was a kid in between, and also one forced to choose. To the point where often it is really hard for me to recognize my own opinions and jugdements.

If there is could we talk?

@Beayay

Hi! I'm a child who's parents spilt up part way through my childhood and although they were never married they spilt was rather messy and similar to a divorce so I feel that hits the criteria. I'm a listner who has an open door policy and would love for you to message me if you want to discuss the difficult situation you are in. So feel free to drop me a message 🙂

hello! im a teenage boy whos parents divorced way back in my child hood and i still remember everything that led up to and after the divorce, i remember laying in my bed staring at the ceiling listening to my parents argue at night and crying my self to sleep, after the divorce my mom flew us (her, my siblings and i) to africa to the country where her and my dad grew up in, leaving my Dad in the Uk but eventully he found a job in a neighboring country and my mom was fine with us visiting him so we try to everyholiday.

ive had so many male figures come into my life that its hard to see my dad as my dad anymore yes we still see him but it doesnt quite feel the same beause he is not around as much. my mom remarried and im cool with my step dad i even if he acts like a child sometimes.

sometimes im afraid i'll end up like my parents.

I unconsciously change my likes/dislikes, opinions, and other aspects of my personality/identity based on who I am with or talking to at the time. I know that this is because of my parents divorce. I was 2 when my mom left my dad, taking my brother and I with her, then a year later she dropped us back off with him and joined the military. We didn't see her for 5 years but when we finally started seeing her via court-ordered visitation dates/times, is when it really started. If we had certain mannerisms or habits or if we dressed or physically started to look more like the opposite parent, we were made fun of, shamed, and ended up feeling unloved. Unless we conformed. So when with one parent, we learned to let them choose everything for us because that was the only way to please them. They also both tried to "buy" our love constantly so that probably plays a part in it too. I switch between extremes still even though I don't live with either of them anymore. Being on my own has been hard because I don't know who to be without my parents forcing me to be what they want. I don't know the details of your situation but I hope you were able to talk to someone or that this helps you in some way, good luck to you❣

My father cheated on my mom when I was around 4 years old. They’ve been split ever since. They used me and my sibling as cannon fodder in hurting each other. Telling us not to trust the other one. Now I have severe trust issues and hate both of them
