Coping with break

Hello. First of all, I am only assuming that I'm on the right thread, so thank you immediately for taking the time to read and listen.

I was in a relationship and we were doing fine, had some misunderstandings yes, but one ultimate deal breaker happened when school taken its toll on her well-being. Recently, she had a constant thinking of not being able to make it and failing to finish her degree, when she got an INC, started with all the doubts because she knew she was a great student in High School.

She started losing time, but I tried to reassure that it is fine, I understand what she needs to do. However, towards the latter part of her one semester, the available time that I was at least hoping she could give became nonexistent as well. I was sending edits of her, but they were left untouched. There was no us-engagements anymore. It became a problem and she asked if it can still be fixed, I was welcoming, though there were hints that implies she cannot try.

Before these sequences, I tried asking her if she wanted to maybe take a break for the time being. But she refused, said she was already thankful enough that I understand her.

Little did I know, she already reached her limit. After her school year, when seemingly things can be fixed, she called it quits with me. She wanted nothing with me. Said she cannot give anything to a relationship anymore. I was persistent on making her understand that I'm not looking for more, and it would already be enough for me to just stay with her and support her. After all the talks, she said she just really can't anymore, that fixing us will not help her back regain whatever had been lost to her.

I always convince myself that I fully understand her, but I always as well wake up with the pain of hearing that I became useless for her. I always get the nagging pain that she had the chance to give less pain but she chose to keep me. I always get the question of why just can't she let me support her. I should know better than to act like this, but it became confusing to me that you were just asking if we can reconcile, why did you suddenly push me away? I know it became worse for her and no one expects how worse it can be for them, but all of my unanswered questions still linger.

I still don't know how to properly cope with it will all the contrasting thoughts I have, and I only hope for it to become lighter. So thank you so much for having this platform where one can express their thoughts freely. Have a good life, everyone.

i can relate with the difficulty to cope with our own thoughts...sometimes it gets too overwhelming and turns things blurry for us

really glad you have cups to share your thoughts and let them out also 💕 you don't need to figure everything at once, ok to take your time
