Divorced and extremely lonely
I recently got divorced. My ex husband decided to leave on Christmas day. We were both struggling in the relationship. Neither of us were happy. I feel so sad and alone. Sometimes I think I should have tried harder but I know he did not love me anymore. He stopped trying before I did. At times I feel even angry about it. He gave up so easily. I'm starting to pick up the pieces little by little. I just want to feel better again and most of all, for my baby boy. He is an adorable child that constantly wants to play and I just can't snap out of it. I should be there, I should be present for him.
I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through a hard time. I’ve not been divorced but I’m going through a breakup after 9 years together and can relate to being unhappy towards the end of our relationship, yet somehow I’m feeling worse going through this breakup. I get angry too. I’m also anxious to just feel better but my therapist said that I actually need to go through the grieving process because otherwise it’ll manifest itself in other ways. Be patient and gentle with yourself and do the best you can with your baby boy and believe that there are better days ahead. Sending you lots of love and positive vibes 💕
I am going through the same thing, funnily enough, my wife called it quits christmas day 2019, and it was especially tough during the pandemic, because I was also diagnosed with an auto immune disorder, so I slipped between feeling depressed because things crumbled, and terrified that I was now facing such a major health issue alone. A year out, and mentally, I'm okay most days, but I still get angry at the situation (and blame myself) or have anxiety attacks, but then other days I feel like I can fight the world, and that I don't need anyone but my son and to be there and support him as he grows up, since the divorce is hard on him too. You're not alone, and I may be a random person on the internet, but, my one talent in life is listening to people and offering a good shoulder, so I'm happy to try and cheer you up when you're having bad days. You'll get through this, and be stronger for it
I'm going through a divorce right now and it's brutal. I share a lot of the same feelings/emotions you're having over it. I don't have children though so I can't imagine what that feels like 😕 it seems awful though and I'm sorry you're going through all of this. It helped me as well to read your post and every single reply thus far. This is a great thread. Thank you for creating it. And thank you to everyone who shared their experiences as well. Every single one of you made me feel a little less alone today 😊
