Forgive and move on?

Had a fight. Mean things were said. Feelings were hurt. Nothing was resolved. Rather than let it escalate, we walked away for the night. Next morning pretend like nothing changed. Wife does not want to talk about it. "Doesn't feel like another fight". Treats me like gold for a while. But this is not my first rodeo. Am I the idiot for wanting to talk and not just forgiving the mean things that were said?

@StressedPuppy

Hey there, hopefully you are doing well. There's a few things I would like to point out;

Had a fight. Mean things were said. Feelings were hurt. Nothing was resolved. (This tells me you both lack emotional self control, have separate issues which is causing you two to trigger each other, and not healthy communication. The most important and less talked about topic is about resolving or resolution after an argument. If resolution or resolving doesn't occur then it's going to stay inside, will cause anger to reside, will lead to resentments and hate, and then it's going to transfer on the next argument) Rather than let it escalate, we walked away for the night. (It's good you two stopped or it would have gotten worst) Next morning pretend like nothing changed. (This is going to lead to hidden anger, resentment and then will slowly kill the connect and safey of the relationship) Wife does not want to talk about it. (This tells me she is not a good communicator, and would rather push things under the rug than work torwards a resolution. Things between you two will get awkward, your anxiety will rise since you won't know when she will get back to normal or even resolve this like adults) "Doesn't feel like another fight". Treats me like gold for a while. But this is not my first rodeo. Am I the idiot for wanting to talk and not just forgiving the mean things that were said? (It shows you want to solve this, however she doesn't want to talk about it, so it makes no sense to keep wanting to talk about when the other side doesn't want to. You are not there to chase and pursue someone who will not work on a way to solve things, but rather punishes you by backing away and not talking about it)
