HOW DO I TELL HER

I love my wife, but I'm no longer in love with her. We've been married for 12 years, but over the past few years we have been growing apart. I'm a few years older than her so our interests are different. She always trying to change who I am to fit whatever image she has in her head. I have a hard time changing when I feel like I've done nothing that is wrong. This has been going on for awhile and I finally had enough. I want her to be happy and if it's not with me I think she should be with someone else. I don't know how to tell her this. Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks

I'm sorry that you're experiencing this turmoil, but it sounds like you're making the right decision.

We can't put words in your mouth though. You know your wife better than any of us. It seems that what you said in this post would be sufficient enough. You don't have to explain your reasons for leaving at all if you don't want to. You're allowed to leave an unhappy relationship. You're hesitating because you worry about how she'll feel but that's not something you should concern yourself with too much. All break-ups are hard, for both parties so focusing on your needs and emotions is most important - you'll both recover in time.

I think once you have a plan in place for what you'll do afterwards, it may be a bit easier for you to break the news to her.

I wish you luck and hope leaving this relationship leads you onto better things. :)
