Help After Breakup
My boyfriend broke up with me recently, and I’m incredibly hurt by it still. I miss him a lot and am still struggling to be okay. I happened to see a post he made on Instagram where he’s at an Airbnb that we used to go together all the time. We even went there for an anniversary. I saw that he’s there taking pictures posing outside of it and in the pictures he’s even wearing the bracelet I got for him. They’re a matching set that we have together. I don’t know what to make of this. How can he be so okay with being there? Is he with someone else? He took me there and he knows I still follow him on Instagram. It hurt so bad seeing that.
@djhmbtr I am so sorry maybe he will come back but what was the reason for him to break him off?😔
@sallymae3459 we had been on and off arguing for a couple months prior. There were things that he would do that would make me upset and I would express that. He felt I was taking my emotions out on him and that he felt anxious all the time when he made decisions because he said he felt he had to please me. I never meant to make him feel this way, I was just upset about things or would maybe take things the wrong way and tried to express that. Maybe I didn’t do it in the right ways. I just wish I could take it back, but it’s too late.
@djhmbtr just take the experience and learn that's all you can do
@sallymae3459 thank you
Looking at your ex's social media is always going to be hurtful. Most people want to put the best picture of themselves out there. He's probably not going to post a picture of himself crying while he's there. So yeah, you'll get the impression he seems happy without you. That's probably not the case though. Maybe this is his way of coping with the breakup. Proving to himself he can still go to places and wear things that will remind him of you, yet he's still okay.
I know moving on after the other person breaks it off is hard, but I think it's best to do it sooner than later. Personally I will get rid of whatever reminds me of them, or at least keep it out of sight and mind. Try to distract yourself as much as possible, so you don't think about him. If not, then cry if you need to. And yeah, eventually he will date other people, but so will you!
Let's say, hypothetically, he was way out of your league to begin with. That means if he could see value in you, then so can other guys of his caliber. Please don't get hung up on his dealings and where-abouts. You have a chance to find someone better; someone that will value and care for you. Searching for that is better than searching for clues in his social media on if he misses you or not. In my opinion at least.
Best wishes, Cain
