How do I stop wondering about my ex

My boyfriend broke up with me about a month ago and I still can’t stop wondering about him and what he’s doing. He still follows me on social media, so I still see him pop up looking at my stories from time to time. I get so tempted to look at his profile and his stories still. He used to never post and now he does all the time. It hurts to see him out and having a good time after he left me so hurt, but it’s like I can’t stop. I don’t know how to stop being curious about his life and seeing if he’s moving on. I don’t know how to stop loving him

Hey, I'm sorry to hear you're unhappy. Breakups can be really painful, especially in the beginning. I don't know what happened between you, the only certainty is that, whatever the reason, he thought it was better for your paths to separate. First of all, accept your feelings. Accept that you still love him, even if he is no longer with you. The healing process takes time, do not rush or you will just have the opposite effect: lengthening the process. By answering your question, you can stop looking at his profile the moment you decide to do so. I know this is difficult, but whenever you are tempted to do it, stop for a moment, and think about it. You know it won't do any good and you'll be even worse off, so why not invest your time and energy in something that makes you feel good? Call a friend, go out for a walk, watch a movie, play sports. Be interested in new hobbies, re-create your identity, re-create your life. A life where you are fine even without him, where you don't need him. Despite the efforts, there will be ups and downs, there will be days when you just want to cry. And that's okay. The healing process is not linear, but remember that even when you think you are sailing in the dark, in reality every day that passes will get better and better. Each passing day that you haven't looked for him, each passing day that you have lived without him, is one step closer to the finish line.

@Lifeonmars787 thank you, you have no idea how much hearing this helped me tonight. It’s definitely been tough.
