How to emotionally detach from an ex
Hey all,
I'm 19 and have recently broken up. Although I want to move on from this break up, it's been really hard to let go because I still love them. I continue to be in contact with them on a regular basis and I can't stop thinking about them when I don't know what they're up to. Whenever I set goals (like not contacting them for -- days), it makes the urge even stronger. I also worry that they'll move on with someone else faster than I can stabalize myself.
My goal is to emotionally detach so that I won't want to get back with them, won't be jealous if they find someone else, and can continue moving forward in life without being emotionally burdened by this break up.
Could anyone suggest how I could stop caring so much about them? Also, feel free share similar experiences you've had in this thread (even if you don't have advice).
Much love,

Breaking-up then remaining in contact will make emotional detachment impossible. The idea of staying friends with an ex is lovely, but it is not realistic in most cases- at least not right away-
It sounds like you need clarity, and for that, you may have to do things you are uncomfortable with, like, not being in contact with him.
Breakups are hard, you do not need added pressure; allow yourself some time to process your emotions first.
Take care of yourself..
