How to stop
My ex and I broke up 3 months ago after 1.5 years of dating because of a lot of stress from university and other things (no cheating etc). We initially agreed we could get back together after spending some time apart. We continued talking, sending memes etc but now it seems like he's fully moved on.
Day before, he started to send flirty messages but he immediately apologized for doing so and said "what we had was special but we are too young to settle and I need to figure somethings about myself first and to do that I want to date other people and explore".
This broke me all over again and I stopped all communication with him - but I can't seem to stop wanting him back. Any advice is appreciated!
It's always difficult when things seemed so good in the relationship, but it didn't work out because of timing. I know it's hard to accept, but once you start putting yourself out there, you'll feel better too. If things are meant to happen later on, you might come back together. Just don't focus on that. It's time to focus on yourself and figure out what makes you happy without him. I can relate- I was in a 5 year relationship and it took me about a year and a half to move on. I'm finally happy with someone new, but am still searching for myself. I think it's best to be happy alone before moving on. I feel guilty that my current boyfriend is dealing with my baggage, but am thankful he's by my side.
