Husband Obsessed With Affair Partner
Hi all,
My husband of 21 years just announced that he was leaving me for his much-younger affair partner of 2 months. Affair partner is married, and from mutual friends I learned that he is following her all around work (they work together), parking next to her every day, leaves at the same time she does, and text-bombing her to compel her to leave her husband. He knows where she lives (apparently some of their infidelities occurred there) and I suspect he’s staking out her house. My heart is broken, but, what kind of man does this? I have a lawyer and am leaning on my friends- I’m just seeking to understand . Thank you!

I am sorry to hear that you are going through this. It can be so hurtful when a marriage of such a long time crumbles over infidelity. I am glad to hear that you have friends and a lawyer. His behavior definitely does not sound like normal behavior and it is narrowing on creepy, stalking behavior. I can only imagine how his behavior must cause you further heartbreak and pain. Thank you for coming here to lean on us for further support. Please let us know what kind of support you want from us. We are here for you.
@persistentBlackberry6457,
I feel you, and I feel for you.
Thanks for sharing, it takes courage to share a very personal situaion.
You ask what kind of man does this.
Well, it can happen to anyone.
You would have to ask him why.
Midlife crisis (sounds like it to me)?
He is very unhappy in his marriage?
What if it has to do with some sort of midlife crisis?
Would it be worth to blow up the marriage?
Don't overhaste any decisions, and never base your actions on emotions.
I really would try to talk to him first.
Maybe there is someone both of you trust who is willing to act as some sort of mediator.
Or, maybe you can suggest marriage counseling.
Now before you go that he is not interested, marriage counselor does NOT focus on saving a marriage.
It focuses more on respectful and constructive communication.
I don't know if you guys have children who are non-adults.
If so, then marriage counseling might definitely help, as you want to treat each other respectful, so the children won't suffer unnecessary.
Or your man might have a friend/family member that he trusts totally, and maybe such a perso might be willing to have some sort of "come to Jesus" talk with him.
I am just brainstorming, it differs per culture whether you would ask family or close friends for help like the above suggestions.
