I don't want to move on

Hey there everyone! I hope someone can help me out a little. I currently in sort of an odd situation. My girlfriend and I were together for about a year and it seemed to be going really well. We were going to move to another state together and we would often talk about a very happy future together. Suddenly though, she broke up with me. She gave me a bunch of reasons that didn't seem to make sense, but ultimately said that she felt like she wasn't in love anymore. I was devastated and confused. To be honest, I'm still not really sure what led to her losing feelings. After the breakup, she started seeing a new guy about 2 weeks later. Her mom talked to me and said that she has no idea why she's into him and she seems to be acting very unlike herself.

It's been about 2 1/2 months since the breakup. We haven't spoken since she called me and told me about the new guy. She told me that she still loved me, but she didn't seem to have interest in getting back together. It was cconfusing. In the same conversation, she told me she loved me and wanted me to be happy, but would then get very frustrated and yell at me to move on. It's been difficult to say the least.

I've been trying to handle things in a healthy way. I cut off contact soon and began spending a lot of time with old and new friends. I've started learning the guitar and I've been picking up a lot of new hobbies. Honestly, my life it pretty good right now. I had been trying to not think about her for the last few weeks, but now I've thought about it and I'm still just as in love as I was before and I think we should be together.

She was the girl I loved, but also my best friend. I know that we are better together than apart, but she seems to have lost sight of that. I'm not really sure what to do now. All I know is that I love her and I have to try, for my own sake. Any thoughts or advice would be helpful :)

@plumPomegranate3635 I'll give you a thought about this, for what it's worth. You're in love with the girl who was in love with you. That girl is gone. Whatever happened is probably not your fault and probably not anything you can control. I think you'll be happier in the long run if you do move on.

@10ship You may be right. Unfortunately, I don't really know for sure what caused things. I had tried to ask her about things early on, but she would always tell me that she didn't know why. I know that it may be best to move on. For the last few months I've been trying to move on. I tried my best to not think of her. I just can't seem to not feel this way about her. I know it takes time, but I still think this is a mistake.

@plumPomegranate3635 The way you feel is completely understandable. That turn of events had to be a surprise, and who wouldn't want to reverse things and go back to the way things were. The thing that's noticable here is that you don't know what caused her to feel this way, and even she doesn't know. That makes it really difficult to fix anything. Your future is up to you, and you seem to have thought about the situation a lot. I'm sure you'll make the right decision. Good Luck.
