I still have my ex's Facebook account logged in on my phone. I check his messages daily.

We broke up 2 weeks ago. Just before, he logged in on my phone and forgot to log out. Now I check his messages every day. I found out he is likely already going on dates with another girl. I almost wish I didn't know all of this information, but now that I do, I feel like I can't log out. I'm scared not to have some form of connection to him.

Sorry to hear you have a hard time letting go. Not sure what was the reason that led up to the breakup but if it was mutual or you decided it, than there was/were reason(s) that didn't let the relationship work out for you. The/those reason(s) are still there. If he choose it, then something didn't work out for him, and at this moment he will not be the partner to love and cherish you like you deserve or worse end up hurting you. Reading those messages will only hurt you and make it harder to move on. Easier said than done, but rather than spending time on those messages, prepare yourself to log out and hopefully gain peace of mind to do so in the near future. It's hard but try and focus on yourself, what makes you happy, so bit by bit you can let him go.

You're absolutely right. I know I need to let it go. It's not my place. I thought we could be friends, but finding out that he's already dating means Ihave to let go cold turkey. I will in time.

I can relate to that. I understand that it can be really difficult to let go of someone you love(d) deeply and would like to check on him to know how he has been so far. As such, we may feel 'connected' to the person. It sounds to me that you wanted to be friend with him despite all the heartache you feel now, it seems to me that you still care a lot about him. What you think could happen if you are to remain as friend despite what has happened? I know it is really tough for you now, but i hope you'll be better from time to time. We have the whole 7cups community here to support you emotionally. Feel free to look for any of the listeners (including me) if you need to talk or let off steams. Blessed! Please take care! I wish you well.

Thank you for the kindness. It means the world to me. I guess my browser reset because I got logged out automatically this morning. There's no looking back now.

I am so sorry that you are going through such a hard time. I know how you must be feeling because I was in a very similar position a while ago. I find that the best thing to do in such a position is to try and move on. He honestly isn't worth the heartbreak if he is setting up dates with another girls only 2 weeks after you guys broke it off. Here are some friendly tips or suggestions to help you try to move on. If you need any tips or support in trying to move on, feel free to message me becsaue I too was in a strikingly similar position and managed to move on, so it may be a bit painful, but it is worth the happiness at the end. I think you should also log out of his facebook becasue seeing those messages is only causing you more harm than good and it is so painful to see an ex with someone else, especially so soon. Feel free to chat with me anytime and I really hope that you feel better :)

Too true. I ran into him on the street today. It was horrible. I said "I hope you're happy" and he shook his head at me and laughed. At least since he's being so nonchalant and rude about things, it's easier to hate him. I thought we could be friends, but not at all anymore.

Hi,

i am going through what you are going through now. We have broken up less than a week. But the worse is, i actually knew his password to his facebook account and he is unaware of it. It hurts so much that i am still grieving and he is actually out dating and having fun.

But seeing this make me hurt so much that i want to move on. It is pointless feeling upset over someone that have already moved on in less than a week. I did want to ask him to change away his facebook password, so that i will not be able to see anything again. But i decided not to. Because i am not giving myself anymore reason to talk to him. To try to find comfort in his reply. and i have been telling myself not to stalk on him anymore. It is a waste of my time.

No doubt it is not easy. I am going through different emotions everyday. Times when i feel strong and motivated to move on, times when i feel hurt and sad and miss him, times when i feel angry that everything he says are all lies. But i guess, it is part of moving on to have all these emotions. I am allowing myself to grieve, to cry, to feel and eventually i will heal. The most important thing that i believe is to not have any contact with him anymore and that includes not looking at his social media. Everytime when i think of him or anything related to him, i just keep telling myself it is no longer my concern.

I hope you will be strong. I am trying hard to be too. Chat with me anytime if you need :)

I got logged out automatically today. I think it's a blessing in disguise, but part of me is sad because I think he had arranged to go out with a girl tonight and I wanted to torture myself with what he was doing. Sigh. It's not my concern. It's 100% over. As I said to the previous poster, I ran into him on the street today (we live close) and he acted like we were just friends, didn't even hug me and tried to say hi and walk past like we were acquaintances. He said actually said, "Hey neighbor." We date for over a year and live together and I'm just your neighbor after two weeks?! It makes me so so so angry. I need him out of my life.
