I was on NC. My LDR ex BF of 4.5y who broke up with me a month ago called me yesterday and I’m starting to accept that everything is for the best.
I was on NC for 2 weeks now but I felt vulnerable and lonely because it’s Valentine’s day. I answered his call. We talked for 20 minutes. We were supposed to move in together on October later this year but he felt like it’s a huge responsibility he cannot take yet. I was scared to move in too because I don’t their language and I can’t have a career there if I don’t know his language. We’re 22M (Russian) and 23F (Filipino). He asked me how’s my moving to Canada application going on. He told me he’s very curious about it. He was happy to hear that I’m finally following my dreams instead of using the money to go to Russia and moving for love then become unhappy because I couldn’t be who I wanted to be. I asked him if he wants to come with me but he said no, he can’t because he has other plans for his life now. Maybe in the far future. He told me that he now plans to work and study in his country and doesn’t plan to leave anytime soon. He wants to travel with his mom on February, probably to the Philippines because he wants to show his mom how beautiful it is here, or to other Asian countries. I asked him, what if you find someone else and date someone else here? (One of his reasons why he broke up with me was because our cultures were too different) He told me doesn’t plan to date anyone right now, he needs to fix his life and get his priorities straight. I’m starting to be in peace with our break up. I am slowly accepting that maybe this is really for the best so we can grow and reach our best potential. It’s just sad that we can’t be together anymore while building ourselves up but I’m quite hopeful that we can reconnect in the future when we’re both successful in life already. I felt calm and no more hatred when we spoke last night. I love him and he loves me too. But I now understand that we have to separate in order to grow.
