Long Distances Suck
I'm only sixteen when he asked me to marry him. He made me happy. We had our ups and downs, and i never felt that way about a guy before. He asked me to marry him on the night before i left to the States. At the airport, in front of all my friends, he proposed to me, with a ring. With that ring he promised me happiness, loyalty, and love. He broke the promise three weeks later. He just stopped replying to my messages, never said a thing. Two months later a friend of mine, Sue, messaged me that he was going out with this other girl who i hung out with a couple of times. I said i didn't really care just to cover up. Fast forward 7 months, which was last week, he showed up to my school. Hanging out and laughing with my friends. Sue was the one who confronted him. He gave her the letter of promises that i wrote for him. He told her he can't "find it in himself" to throw it away. I still have the letter he wrotr for me. Just when i thought I was all good, he somehow screws me over without even being physically there. He ruined my love life, since I can't see guys the same, And now he wants to ruin the memories by going to MY school and graduating with MY class. Is there no respect in this world for exes anymore? Are there no bounderies? Why can't i move on...??? It's been 9 months... You can have a child with all that time..
@Raawny - It sounds like you've been through a lot with him, and I'm sorry that it feels like he's not respecting your boundaries and giving you the space you need. But there is no time limit on grieving a relationship and no amount of time in which you have to be 'over it'. Instead of pushing yourself to be over it before you really are, would it help to think about what you need in order to move forward? What would help you most right now?
@Anomalia thank you so much for your input... I don't know what i need. I just wish he could at least tell me that he is done with me. There was no closure... I can't force the guy to do that, though. I feel like I'm not even good enough for an explanation..
@Raawny - You are absolutely good enough for an explanation. That doesn't necessarily mean that you will get one, but you do deserve it. Do you feel like you could talk to him or write him a letter/email explaining how you feel and asking for the closure you need? Or does it feel like that would make things worse, rather than better?
@Anomalia i did send him messages about it.. He just never replied. Completely cut me off. If i do more that what i have done i feel like he will think I'm out of my mind and have gone crazy. Thank you so much for caring... Hard to find a caring person even in friends these days... I am so grateful... Thank you.
@Raawny - If you ever need to vent or a reminder that there are people who care, you can always message me. *hugs*
