so my boyfriend of over a year cheated on me. he went away to college (not too far only an hour drive) and not even a month after the semester started he cheated on me with some girl he started talking to on tinder. He told me and cried and I felt bad so I didn't break up with him but about a month later I found out he still had this girl on his snapchat and they talked. I shouldn't have looked on his phone so I didn't say anything to him but I read their chats and how she kept saying she was cuter than me. it's now months later and im still bothered but I don't know how to say anything and he treats me really well and loves me very much but I just cant get past what he did/ might still be doing.

@Lindsay0127 hi there!

Some people can love multiple people while some love only one. I think it is called polygamy and monogamy. I think your bf is polygamous. Ask him about it. More importantly, ask yourself if you are comfortable with him being with someone else at the same time as you.

I am sure you will get your answer. Lots of love!

@Searcher47 if someone believes they are poly, they should be adult enough to talk to their partner about it. I think in this situation, it's greed. It doesn't take a lot to respect someone, and cheating in your partner is disrespectful.

@Dsurion

Yes, you are right! Thanks for showing me the way. The thing is, I don't have much experience in these things. I just wanted to help them. Thanks!

First off all, sorry that this has happened to you.

I'm a man. Not a young one anymore, but I think that this is a case of "having your cake and wanting to eat it, too" (pretty dumb expression when you think about it )... He wants to experiment sexually, enjoys the freedom of being at college, yet I'm sure he still really cares for you and wants to try and keep your relationship going, too.

It's all good for him. But what are you going to do about it? How do you feel moving forward?

Maybe you're robust enough to accept him as he is. you may even decide to play around a bit yourself.

The fact is, you're both young and it's extremely hard to stay in a relationship when you're physically apart and experiencing so many new things in your lives.

A suggestion : agree to an open relationship. You're both free to explore other options, but during vacation, you agree to be together. Requires a lot of honesty and maturity. So you think you're both up to it?

Good luck going forward.
