My ex boyfriend just broke up with me on june 5th and I believe its been 4 weeks since then and my relationship with him was 3 years its still recent and I still message him and everything we both still love each other its complicated I really wish it wasn't complicated at all I do wish I can explain more of what happened and everything but Im stuck feeling depressed and still paining so its so very hard to explain without crying just know that i really love him and he feels the same way as well and he wants me and him to stay as friends and to wait for one another to date in the future sadly we are basically "friends who have feelings for each other" we flirt with each other and say we love each other even though it pains me so mucb i tried making me and him have complete space so that way i can heal but he made me felt very bad telling me "Im scared of losing you completely" its just his signals are so co fusing and it pains me at rhe same time because we would flirt and everything and then he would randomly get distant and hes not even trying to change himself or better himself he puts a lot on his plate and making sure he keeps himself busy and I hate it because it feels like im beingtaken advantage of like he leads me on coems to me and give me love whenever he feels like it I too try keeping myself busy but its not helping me at all...

So sorry to hear you're going through this emotional roller coaster situation. Yes, you are right, there seem to be a lot of confusing mixed signals from him. You love him, however, the relationship was not meeting your needs in any way and was causing you so much stress.

Do you feel this person has any intention of connecting with you in the honest, open way that you seek?

dude I’m literally going through the same exact thing. It hurts so much when they call me by my name when i used to be called baby all the time and vice versa. I cant even say his name because to me he was ‘baby’.

What i’m doing and maybe its bad advice is to just stick it out and hope for a relationship later on down the line if u think they’re worth it. It depends if y’all are being intimate and stuff too. Maybe we just need to move on and use this as a growth lesson but for now i’m sticking it out. Hope ur okay!!

You said when you tried to create space to heal he told you he didn’t want to lose you completely. It sounds like he doesn’t want to commit but he doesn’t want to lose you either. He can’t have it both ways. Otherwise he will string you along until he finds something or someone he does want to commit to. The best thing you can do is create that space for you to heal, and maybe when he sees you putting in the work it’ll encourage him to do the same and he will realize he doesn’t want to lose you.
