Recently was cheated on
about a week ago i found out my gf had cheated and not in a typical fashion, i struggle with depression and really bad anxiety and my partner knew that and always had said it didn't bother and she'd always be there for me and how us meeting was like a miracle and we're basically star crossed lovers. but everytime a depressive episode would start for me she would decide to break up or take a breao and would never be there for me. i always told her i wanted her to come back but only if she wanted to and not bc she felt bad. and she always did so i thought this time would be no different but she kept blowing off everything i said to try and help her make her decision, but instead she "lead me on" for a week of us being apart but still in contact and after i gave my final attempt and wrote her a love letter bc she likes things like that, she told me she met someone the day before she broke up w me. and her reason was to focus on herself which clearly wasnt true. as u could imagine i feel horrible bettayed and like utterly disgusted because its not like her character at all to do something like that and my close friends i've told agree. obviously it wasn't physical cheating it was more emotional cheating and it really stings. she even said they met the way we did which she made seem like w miracle. idrk what im asking or anything but yeah

So, let's take a look at what happened.
You met someone who knew about your depressive episodes, anxiety, and any time those situations would escalate, she would take off and not be supportive. Only until the clouds cleared, she could be wooed back, until she couldn't anymore. While she said that those states didn't bother her, clearly they did and she didn't know how to handle them so she took off until it seemingly was safe to return. Perhaps she only wanted to be with you when things were rosy and dandy? That wasn't what you needed, because you had hoped that she would provide you a sense of support and empathy.
It sounds as if there were enough instances where your depressive states and anxiety caused her to leave that she finally left for good and located someone else to be with. You can call that betrayal, deception, or wrong but her actions make it seem as if she ultimately made a choice that she couldn't be in a relationship with you anymore.
How much of your personal issues with depression and anxiety was her responsibility, as your girlfriend?
It's sad that this relationship did not work out. However, there are certainly lessons that can be learned from what happened.
What did you learn from this situation that you can use to hopefully make your next relationship more successful?
