One afternoon, I was cooking a foreign cuisine for lunch when my wife called me from our room. I stood up and headed to her while leaving my phone at the couch. The moment I stepped inside the room, I heard her sobs and I wonder why. I stepped closer, sat beside her and wiped her tears away. I asked her why but she just shook her head. I let her cry in my shoulders until she felt relaxed. Few minutes after, she started talking. I faced her as she tried to gain composure. I asked her what happened and she said she wants a divorce. @brandon80 If she isn't happy, she isn't happy. It may have absolutely nothing to do with you. I can't say what you should or shouldn't do but you won't be happy if you comepl her to stay and she's so unhappy.

Are there options she's willing to try? Counseling, or something else? She may not be open to it but you can ask. Good luck.

Hey there, hopefully you are doing well. There's a few things I would like to point out;

(I would need to know more information about how things were going before this conversation and if there were any arguments, but I believe she felt emotionally hurt and probably keep things inside until she couldn't take it anymore) I asked her why but she just shook her head. (She has a hard time expressing herself, I can tell she was doing the best she can to talk) I let her cry in my shoulders until she felt relaxed. Few minutes after, she started talking. I faced her as she tried to gain composure. I asked her what happened and she said she wants a divorce. I wasnt able to respond. My eyes went wide. (This news will come as a shock to most men because they usually think things are going well or project their own happiness on her. The fact she mentioned the word "divorce" shows that she has been slowly falling out of love for the past few months and during those times she was slowly doing less of the things she used to do. It's very important to always do what you did in the begining that made her fall in love throughout the entire marriage so she stays in love with you.) I asked why. She said she doesnt love me anymore. (She fell out of love slowly over time for the past few months. I can tell she is started to feel less connected with you and then started to shut down) I told her that whatever problem we had can still be fixed and that divorce is not a solution. (It's a bad idea to start thinking of a solution when she said "I don't love you anymore", it's important to ask her "Which things made you fall out of love?" then let her talk about everything) I told her how much I love her but she seemed deaf to my words. (This will not work with her, it tells me you felt anxiety and decided to do anything in your power to solve the situation and prove how much you love her. The most important thing was to get her to talk about things while you just listen) It seemed like her decision was final. She stood up and said, Please make it happen. I didnt know what to think when she said those words. I love her but shes not happy with me anymore. Should I let her go or maybe try to work this out? (You got to respect what she wants) How could she end our marriage that easy? (No she didn't throw the marriage that easy, it's just she didn't feel loved, connected, safe and comfortable in the marriage, so it made her fall out of love with you. Right now she doesn't love you, but it doesn't mean it will stay like that forever, but your behavior is crucial here in getting her back)

Not that it will make you feel any better, but the same happened to me. My wife told me she does not love me anymore about two months ago and soon after she told me she is in love with someone she met on Facebook. We still live together, but it is just sadness every day. She no longer hugs me, she barely talks to me, she is upset when I send her an email that has more than a few sentences in it, she moves away swiftly when I touch her. We talked and she said that I left her alone with many things during the past years. She has a point, but she also never said anything, at least not in a way that would have registered with me. She also is now impacted by really bad experiences of her childhood and youth. For months she barely does anything else than Facebook, drink beer, and get dressed up to vid chat with the other guy. I'm only a nuisance to her as are our kids who suffer a lot from this.

If your wife is willing to work on your relationship despite what she said, take that opportunity. You will be luckier than I am. All the best to you...and no, you are not the only one who experienced a life shattering event like this.
