Starting Over

Last month I typed up a lengthy post about my issue with trust and pain caused by an ex who broke my heart in a way I didn’t think a person could.

The post is still up to read here: https://www.7cups.com/forum/NewbieHub_27/WelcomeIntroductionsto7Cups_1163/HithiswhyImhere_282111/

I haven’t been on here for a while as I’ve been focusing on my mental health and recovery. But it’s going very well and I feel more like myself in literally years. I have a renewed interest in playing the guitar, I’ve started focusing on finding work again, and I have gone through a rebirth. The therapist who I have been working with is amazing and I have to thank her. I’m eating healthier (like salads!) as well as going for a walk every morning. My whole outlook has changed. Not just of myself but the world around me. I was so mad at myself for a long time but 1. It’s in the past and 2. She wasn’t who I thought she was. I’ve told the lady I was with who ignored me (I’m talking six months without seeing each other) that we are done unless she tries to actively change. Until I see change we are friends. I’m literally going to cry (happy tears) I’m so relieved. I’m so excited to become a better, stronger person who makes decisions for myself and doesn’t let anyone tell me what to do or let anyone take me for granted. I’m a Christian- and I’ve beat myself up for doing… that… with her before we were married. But I believe God taught me a lesson. That there’s a reason why it’s between a man and his wife. I went to confession and cleansed myself of that sin she perpetrated. We perpetuated. Right now - I’ve decided that I’m doing what I should’ve done so long ago- work on myself. Ignore the bs she put me through. I’m on Tick Tock (I spelled it like that for a reason) a lot and I have learned a lot about narcissistic relationships. Looking back on my romantic life I can see how many of the women I dated seem to share those narcissistic traits. Especially that girl. Everything - from having a low self esteem when we met, to me building her up, to her leaving and blaming me for the whole situation when she’s the one who broke promises and lied. But that doesn’t matter now. What she did she did and I can’t change that. I can however, learn from it. That’s what I’m doing now. There’s a new chapter in my book that’s still to be written.

Can I post YouTube links here? I’m going to anyway.
