Struggling

Hey Everyone,

My marriage has ended, and it's clearly my fault from not wanting to change. For example I'm a naturally cluttered person so I would make empty promises to clean and wouldn't do it good enough. My ex-wife got tired and left. The pain hurts so fucking much, but does anyone have tips on moving on?

Thanks

Hi there NC,

I'm so sorry to hear about the pain that you are currently experiencing. The loss of a marriage can be more devastating than anything we ever thought possible. Although you seem to recognize what were some signs that your ex-wife was not happy in the marriage, it's important to remember that your personal habits do not exclude you from being "someone else's perfect match".

Focusing on your current feelings though, if you feel abandoned or less-than-worthy because of the divorce, what is important to remember is that you loved someone enough to take a chance and be fully devoted to them. Right now, the person who needs this devotion and attention is YOU. You deserve to try and go out into the world, maybe sit in a coffee shop and treat yourself to something that you enjoy. Or, to go to a body of water and walk around a lake / river / ocean, etc.

Basically, any situation that you might be comfortable with going into that will remind you of this: Although your inner world is in a lot of pain right now, you are also a part of an even greater world than wants you to have all the joy, love, and happiness possible. Keep reminding yourself that you deserve peace, and that even though this pain may be very real, with time and patience with yourself, it will dissipate, and be replaced with a newfould love that you'll grow for yourself.

Much love to you, friend <3

And please, for the love of everything, don't jump into another relationship right now. Give yourself time to heal and grow. Take at least a year. You don't know it, but you are a crazy man right now. And another relationship could be a disaster.
