Struggling to move on, please read
My ex (17F) and I (17F) ended a short term relationship about 8 months ago. She was the one who broke it off but we still decided to remain friends and attempted to keep in contact immediately post-breakup, which of course was a bad idea. We ended up fighting often and officially kicked ourselves out of eachother's lives about a month post-breakup with the intention of never speaking again.
However, we ran into eachother at an event over the summer and agreed to look past everything that happened and decided to become "friends" again. Recently we've been talking quite often and it's making me miss her a lot. I'm completely fine with just being her friend, but I can't help but think about the "what if's". It makes me feel extremely pathetic that I still have feelings for her and I know that I'm not being a good "friend" if I just want to try and rekindle our relationship, but I'm also getting some mixed messages from her (not exactly flirting, but she's said some questionable things). I'm not sure if I should even bother with the concept of getting back together. She meant a lot to me and I've never been good at handling breakups. All I want to do is to be able to know for sure whether she's even considered the idea of getting back together, since we've been talking a lot for people who had a rocky breakup.
