Stuck in limbo with ex
My bf and I broke up two weeks ago because he broke a promise he made to me which was a dealbreaker. We spoke a week ago and he was only keen to speak if it was about getting back together but after we spoke, he said his mind is in a mess and he has lots to deal with so he wants to settle those before getting back together. I asked if he is going to see other people during this time and he said it’s not his intention which is vague. He kept saying we need to work on ourselves which I think is right but he gave no set timeframe for this break. I don’t know what to do. Do I even contact him at all during this break?

Does he has different point of view to see the issue or he's generally having difficulty to admit his fault?
I’m better, thanks but still lost. I don’t know what it is that he wants. We haven’t spoken for a week since. The last time we spoke he flat out said he will not apologise and he refuses to admit that what he did was breaking his promise. Idk if I should just move on or wait for him to come to his senses...

From what you told, sounds like you're hurting and he refused to admit let alone apologize yet your compassion for him is making you unsure of what to do.
