Trying to remember
I had an affair with a man while I was in a relationship. My boyfriend is asking about the details and I cant remember!!! Its so frustrating because I want to answer his questions, I want to be honest 100% with him. I dont remember details of what we talked about, normal conversations and sex messages. I dont remember every single time we met. Sometimes things will come back to me and I try to tell my bf right away but it leads to a whole new round of questions relating to things outside of that detail and I cant remember!! It makes him frustrated and he thinks Im lying or playing dumb. He even brings up his own memories of times he suspected and I can neither confirm or deny it happened. Has anyone ever experienced this before? Any advice? Thoughts? Theories? Anything is appreciated.
@TurtlePaws85 I can understand it must be really hard for you to answer his questions when you don't remember most of the details. But try to understand his perspective as well his frustration is normal. What you can try is write down whatever you remember on a paper, sit with him and sort it all out. Explain to him that you are not able to recall everything. Whatever questions he is having, tell him to ask you at that time... and close the topic there and then. Get over with this and move on. Try not to drag it forever as it will lead to more misunderstanding between you two.
