Unsent Letter
I am going to be totally candid, sincere, and honest with you.
You pointed out some things to me that I have heard before, from only one other person. I didn’t believe that person. I see now that I have been in a destructive trend. I believe the things you said to me, about me.
Depression and anxiety have been crippling me, way more than I knew or could have imagined. This is not an excuse. Not an apology. It is just the reality.
I would not have gotten the help I needed if it weren’t for you. Thank you for helping me come to that realization. I will forever cherish you for that. Honestly. You may have saved my life.
That does not mean the way I have been treated by you is fair, or just, or appropriate. Things happened. I can only control myself. The way you treated me led me where I am today. I’m not angry. Good things are on my horizon.
This isn’t a game to me. I’m not going to resist anything, or beg and plead, or be reactive. This isn’t about money or material things or even love, to me. I am one person, alone in this world, and you helped me see that. Thank you, again.
