Well, what now?
A couple months ago my girlfriend of 4 years started taking online therapy, and in just a few weeks later came to the conclusion that I am no longer the "perfect guy" in her mind. She mentions how our interests and hobbies are entirely different. She has a large family that gets together a lot, and I have separated parents. I enjoy being a homebody, I'm into science, space, games and comics. She's into nature, quads and camping. She wants someone who can be more "country" for her, since I've was raised a city boy. We haven't had an argument in over a year, but we also haven't had sex in over 1 1/2 years for her own personal reasons I cannot disclose. The relationship has been very neutral. She took it upon herself to mention that I as a person is only part of the reason she wants to end the relationship. She loves me, she says, but after jumping from boyfriend to boyfriend ever since freshman year of high school, we are 23 now, she's afraid of never gaining her own independence. She wants to move out, and live on her own. After sitting down with her, and having these hard conversations nobody really likes to have, I came to accept her decision. She will be prepping to move out in the next couple weeks to a month, and every day I will have to choke on the pain of knowing she will be leaving soon. Even though her and I are coordinating, and I planned to help her with the transition, it pains me. I can only hope that one day she will come back to me..
