why could he do this? im so stressed
well tbh its just hard because me and my bf of 2 years recently broke up and he seems to not care at all! hes moved on within a month and everything and said he slowly started crushing on her and falling in love all at once..its seriously sucks because he used to tell me this would never happen and that he'd always be here for me...idk its tough just looking at our old messages and seeing what has happened..my bff has tried talking to him too but he still acts like a heartless jerk...should i really just move on or will there be some type of chance? it sucks more too because next month is our 3 years anniversary and seriously it hurts looking at old screenehots of him saying he'd never break promises he meant and how i was his everything...it sucks because we had the dumbest fight and he just goes off and leaves for someone else and acts like such a jerk to me i just really dont understand how he lied and couldn't control his feelings or fight for me like he said he would
Well first of all, the best thing you can do for yourself at this point is to try to stop torturing yourself unnecessarily. Don't read old texts; the fact of the matter is that he sent those messages under very different circumstances than the ones your both currently going through and reading those texts doesn't do either of you any good and it will only upset you more.
As far as his situation goes, it'sreally never a good idea to jump into a new relationship so soon after another one ends, especially if the last relationship wasa long-term one; no matter how strongly he thinks he feels for this new girl, the reality is that by jumping from relationship to relationship, he isn't giving himself the opportunity to self-reflect and identify the strengths and weaknesses of hisrelationship with you in any real way, which I think points to some serious emotional immaturity on his part. You say he's acting like a heartless jerk, and unfortunately that might just be all there is to it, he might just be a heartless jerk.
I've been going through something sort of similar, and as upset about the situation as you may be, you can't force anything, and you definitely can't force somebody back into a relationship with you. He probably wasn't mature enough to take your relationship seriously and even if there is a chance of getting the relationship back, it's probably in your best interest not to involve yourself with someone so immature and selfish. He already made up his mind and the best thing you can do now is move on, forget about him, and find someone who actually values you as much as he says he does. That won't be easy to do and it will take time, but if you give yourself that time and focus on yourself, it will definitely happen, and you'll be much better off for it.
