Two them really. Obviously the most important is the memory of the day I had my son. When they layed him for the first time across my chest and he grabbed my little finger and I met eyes with him for the first time. The day i knew my life was ment for something better.
The second happiest memory would be Hercules. The night he layed his head apon my chest with his arms wrapped tightly unerneath me, and I ran my fingers thru his hair and down his neck and shoulders. Ive never felt so safe in my whole life.
When I slept over at a friends place.
All the times my best friend has held me and slept next to me.
When I finally came out as bi and even though my family made jokes they told me that they accepted me, a lot of stress was relieved.
Being pregnant and having my family
My mother was a gifted dancer. She never took a lesson or had any formal training, but even when she walked there was a certain rythm and grace to her. My father said it was like she moved as if dancing to a song only she could hear.
When I was eight years old, in preparation for my uncle's wedding, my mother taught me to dance. I guess if I were a different sort of person I would have thought it was lame or stupid to learn to dance with my mom, but I was proud then and I am proud now.
I close my eyes and I can still see my mom dancing, showing me how to notice the music and the space around me, twirling and her hair and skirt moving around her. She smiled and told me, over and over to just let air hug me and move me.
What I wouldn't give to dance with her again...
