@Laura I love a personality as much as beauty. A good person inside is always a good pick.

@Laura They should be someone who is a good listener and also understanding. The relationship has to be two-sided and not limiting for any of the people involved so they should be able to make their own point and dare to try new things and live their life while still being caring and loving for their partner. They should also give the partner enough free space and trust to let them continue their life and take risks, too. And finally the love they show should be true and coming from their heart.

@Lavenderrose28 are you saying the way a person copes with traumatic experiences is something you look at when deciding who to be with? or are you asking for yourself for advice on how to cope with something that happened?

@Lavenderrose28 well... for the most part, time. This is especially true for trauma related to relationships since learning to stand strong and confident in yourself and your own abilities will help a lot if and when you feel comfortable to start dating again.

In general, it can help a whole lot reaching out to others for help too and expressing summaries with those who understands you and you understand them because of shared experiences.

It's hard to say much more without knowing what sort of trauma it was though.

For me a partner would be a soul mate, someone I could feel a connection with and the ability to share the good and bad times. A person that winds me up at times but I never stop caring about.
