My mothers taught me so much, but I think one of the most important lessons regarding my mental health was: you can always come home.

When it gets really bad, when Im in crisis, I always know they will come get me (as I needed in college) and open their home to me (as I still occasionally need now). This was such an important message because it is so hard to ask for help.

one thing that my parents taught me is to stand up for what I believe in and be a leader in what I like to do so I can help others.

@ShouldI what? No that is not exactly a good thing to be learnt. You should be able to share your problems with the ones who care about you

@ShouldI
I have a similar notion of asking help from friends and family. If it's too much to understand for them, some of them would end up causing more trouble for us.
But then, it's also how I discovered compassionate side of some of my now good friends. I am still cautious, about who to share what with.

@GiveMeABettername

They listened to me without judging. They listened to me even when they didn't have to. They made me feel suported and cared for. That's a bit more than compassionate - they turned out to be good friends, lucky to have them.

Love is a privelege, so is friendship. We can only be thankful for the beautiful times we get. It's always more than we deserve.

@exuberantAvocado5095 maybe you're right, but the point is, i will not make the same mistakes i did before, and trust people? Well duh never again...

My mother always told me to be kind to others and listen attentively - even if they don't deserve it from your point of view. You never know what battle they're facing and it could make all the difference. Kindness/Cruelty <3

That people cant be replaced. Its because of this that I dont have a strong leaning toward material goods.
